A Few Steps To Help You Learn How To Hit A Golf Ball

No matter that you are very experienced and have been playing golf for a long time you simply cannot deny the fact that learning how to hit a golf ball is an ongoing process that always throws up new solutions that will help you hit the golf ball straight and true – each and every time. What these ongoing lessons in learning how to hit a golf ball will show you is that it pays to learn how to stop making bad shots as the fewer such shots you make the better will be your overall performance in regard to making the perfect shot – over and over again.

Hitting Targets

Golf as you may or may not know is a game based on hitting targets in which it is necessary to strike a stationary ball in the required direction and to an appropriate distance. Most golfers have already realized that such aims are laudable but not always easy to accomplish. Fortunately, there are a few steps that you can take in order to learn how to hit a golf ball.

Step one is that you need to be sure about the fundamentals of the golf swing including learning the proper grip and also the best manner of bending your body. Such things are basic and are almost always sure to be taught to you as soon as you take your first lessons in golf. To learn how to hit a golf ball you need to first of all improve your posture as well as get the swing plane right.

Step number two in regard to learning how to hit a golf ball is to ensure that while your right shoulder is dropping to keep your right arm in contact with the stomach’s lower right part. This must be achieved while your position is erect. Such a shape guarantees that you start off with the right position and this in turn ensures that you will succeed in learning how to hit a golf ball that would then mean that you will start hitting the ball straight and true.

Step number three in regard to learning how to hit a golf ball is to get the swing plane right. This must be followed by making a regular swing in which the left arm must act as a guide and which also should slither along the proper swing plane. In addition, this position should also be used when putting. Finally, to learn how to hit a golf ball requires spending long hour practicing on a practice range and to also remember that turning the head by a couple of degrees you should be able to make better backswings and takeaway.

If you are looking to get a proper golf swing for improved accuracy and driving distance, this article is going to go into some simple things that can help you to keep everything in check. Some people have a natural swing that works great for them, but for the rest of us a proper golf swing is created and needs to be worked on.

Steps To Make Sure You Have A Proper Golf Swing

The first thing you want to do is make sure that you base is set up correctly.

Find a spot that is perfectly flat and will allow you to swing freely.

Set your feet should width apart and let your arms dangle in front of you loosely.

This will get the basics of your swing set up and will be the foundation of everything you do. It is important that you have your feet not too close together but not too far apart. A proper golf swing will let you shift your weight comfortably from back foot to front foot, and if you are too wide you can not do this, too narrow and you could tip or cause the club head to go up and down through the hitting area, making it more difficult to hit an accurate shot.

Once you have set up and approached the ball, you now need to get set for the proper golf swing. This starts with your backswing. You will want to make sure that you bring the club back slowly all the way to the top of the swing just past vertical. You do not need to go much past this for a proper golf swing and this part will come down mostly to feel. I like to bring the club back so that the shaft is at roughly a 45 degree angle with the ground above my head. For you it may be something different.

Then you need to concentrate on your downswing as you come through the ball. This is where people will generally start to make mistakes. The first thing you want to do is start turning your hips so that they pull the club head down. Once the club head has started moving you can speed up the swing by turning through with your shoulders and arms. Your hips however should still be leading the way pulling the club head down towards the ball. What you want to happen is that once your club head has begun moving you want it and your hips to turn through the ball simultaneously. This is the way to get the most power out of your swing. Another important key is that you keep your head down and your eye on the point of impact as the club head goes past. If you are not looking at what you are hitting, you will have problems.

Hi Golfers!

I have been struggling with the game of golf for years. My handicap before ordering the ‘Simple Golf Swing‘ program was at 29 and I usually shoot in the high 90’s. I usually play around twice a month and get to practice once a week if I’m lucky and I have been playing for around 7 years. I decided that I needed to get better and so went ahead and ordered the program hoping that things would finally improve.

I really liked the picture illustrations and videos as they made things a lot simpler. I found the swing method to be very simple to understand and it also made good sense however I did have to practice it a few times on the range as was suggested in the guide before going out on the course. I spent around 4 practice sessions on the range working on the drills shown in the videos so I could get more comfortable with the method. Around the end of the third practice session I could tell my ball striking was really getting better and felt that I am ready to test the new swing on the course.

My first round on the course using the new swing method was a 92 which was not a huge improvement but was certainly better than the 98 I shot in the round I played before I purchased this system. I kept practicing the method on the range because I honestly noticed a positive difference and greater confidence in my ball striking. The next week I went out to play again and the first nine I shot 45 but missed a ton of putts and made some very poor chip shots around the green.

However the second nine saw me hitting 7 out of 9 fairways and I hit 5 greens in regulation and shot a 41. My score of 86 on that day was my best round in a long time and ball striking using the Simple Golf method had a lot to do with it. The Simple Golf Swing program will probably be useful for most high handicap players looking for a simpler way to play the game and shoot lower scores without having to spend too much time practicing.

Jim, Good morning. I just wanted to write and let you know how successful your “Simple Golf Swing” method is as it applies to my game. This is no lie, in 1 week I dropped 10 strokes. I know that some may not believe me but this is the honest truth. The usual foursome I play with every weekend could not believe the improvement in one weeks time. Now it did take some time at the driving range, roughly 100 balls hit, but that was it. I know I have a ways to go to get to the level of play I would like, I am currently an 11 handicap. I’m glad I found your site and the book you recommend really rocks!

Regards,

Other User Experiences:

I do have a bit of a dilemma though, my group was so impressed with my accuracy as well as my distance off the tee that I feel like taking all of the credit for this and yes, I did take all of the credit. Wrong of me I know and I believe this weekend I will spill the beans and give the credit were credit is deserved. Anyway, thank you so much for your knowledge and willingness to share it with others. I could not have done it without you.

Sincerely,
Dale M. Morvaji

Jim, I proceeded to make 14 pars yesterday and 4 bogeys on my way to, for me, a stellar 76…even with one penalty stroke.

I purchased the book you recommended online a few months ago. I haven’t taken the time to read the information until this past weekend. Having only read the information and not practicing any of your methodology I decided to put it all to the test, “cold turkey” if you will, yesterday.

I am a nine handicap and play only about once a week. My biggest disappointment with my golf game is my inconsistency. Well, I teed it up yesterday after devouring your book and making mental notes. Needless to say my very first tee-shot was a little on the rough side, not bad by any means just not what I was accustom too. Second shot was to 10 feet from the pin and I am putting for a birdie. I made par and could not have been more pleased.

This is with no practice. Dave and just pure desire to implement your methods. I had to fight-off some old bad-habits during the round but I have no doubt that I have embarked on a golf swing that I can simply and easily repeat over and over and over. My golfing partners were already counting their winnings when I told them what I was about to do. Needless to say my winnings managed to pay for the cost of your book and more. It all seemed a bit odd at first but I did manage to trust my swing and your methods and the results were terrific. I know my confidence will soar as I begin to practice and better master this simple golf swing as well.

This is golf as it is meant to be played. A simple set-up, a couple simple swing thoughts and “poof” a simple but VERY productive golf swing yielding terrific results. Until next time, cut a few strokes from your score!
